About Your Myofunctional Therapist

Hi, I’m Jessica!

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist. I started my training the dental field back in 2011 though the Dental Assisting program and then continued into the Dental Hygiene program at Fanshawe College. Since 2014, I have been working as a Registered Dental Hygienist in my home town of Hanover, ON. I love expanding my knowledge and learning new things - I’m often taking a new course, reading or working on my Bachelors Degree. In September 2020, I took the plunge and decided to advance my education in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and I am so glad I did!

As a Dental Hygienist, my interest has always been in education. I love having the opportunity to educate patients to help them improve their oral health, leading to improved overall health. As a myofunctional therapist, I have an additional area in which I get to educate my patients with the goal of improved overall health and wellness. During my studies, the more I read and learned about myofunctional therapy, the deeper my interest grew. I came across my own myofunctional disorders and how to address them and now I look forward to helping you understand what myofunctional therapy is and how it can help you!

The knowledge I have gained from working as a Dental Hygienist, combined with what I have learned studying Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy allows me to offer a thorough approach in assessing, identifying and determining underlying contributing factors for myofunctional disorders. I take into account a persons whole health and concerns, connecting the dots to address the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms. Myofunctional therapy requires a collaborative approach to treatment, so you will find me continually upgrading my knowledge and collaborating with other healthcare providers so that I can better address your needs. I am passionate about the field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and I can’t wait to help you on your journey to overall wellness!
